Middle school student Eisuke Sasaki was found dead in a terrifying state. A paper bag with a smiling face painted on it had been placed over his head.

This disturbing mask bears a striking resemblance to a recurring clue in a series of unsolved murders 18 years ago as well as to the urban legend of Emio, also known as the Smiling Man, a serial killer who is said to give his victims ‘an eternal smile’.

Does this smiling man really exist... or is a new criminal continuing his legacy?

As a member of the Utsugi Detective Agency, you have been tasked with investigating the circumstances that led to Eisuke Sasaki's death. You will examine clues and witness statements that you collect in order to discover any similarities with the gruesome events of the past.
